Our mission is to raise money and awareness for LIVESTRONG supporting critical programs for cancer research, prevention, survivorship, clinical trials and one day a cure. We work to unite people affected by cancer to raise awareness through education, prevention, screening and early detection efforts.

Led by testicular cancer survivor and founder Brian Dowd, we have raised over $50,000 since February 2007 to benefit LIVESTRONG. LIVESTRONG inspires and empowers people affected by cancer. They help people with cancer focus on living; they believe unity is strength, knowledge is power and attitude is everything. Through the dollars and awareness that we raise for LIVESTRONG, we can inspire and empower individuals, and we can make life better for the more than 12 million Americans affected by cancer. The LIVESTRONG Challenge Series is the signature fundraising event for LIVESTRONG. For the past thirteen years, the Series has raised over $60 million for the fight against cancer. In 2010, the LIVESTRONG Challenge Series will visit four cities across the U.S.: Seattle, WA; San Jose, CA; Philadelphia, PA; and Austin, TX.

In Philly, on August 21 - 22, the LIVESTRONG Challenge takes place in the Philadelphia suburb of Blue Bell on the Montgomery County Community College Campus. This year we've expanded our Philly event to a 2-day format. Because of the growth of the event, moving the run/walk to Saturday will allow us to welcome more participants and add an additional 10K distance and Post Event Party for our runners and walkers. On Sunday, our riders can enjoy bike rides varying from 10, 20, 45, 75, and 100 mile options. For the first time ever in Philly, enjoy both activities of the LIVESTRONG Challenge. This year, LIVESTRONG has implemented the following registration windows in Philly:

December 1, 2009 - December 31, 2009: Registration Fee $35

January 1, 2010 - April 30, 2010: Registration Fee: $45

May 1, 2010 - August 21, 2010: Registration Fee $50

December 1, 2009 - August 21, 2010: Joint Registration Fee for both events $75

Please take note there are Virtual Challenge spots at No Fee. Virtual participants can register, join a team, fundraise and receive incentives for the LIVESTRONG Challenge, but they will not be participating in the actual event. You can mix the run/walk events with ride events
